Art Basel transportation is a timing problem dressed as a map. The main fair is on the beach, the satellite fairs are in the Design District and Wynwood, the good dinner is in Coral Gables, and all of it happens on the same three days when every road in Miami is full of people doing exactly the same thing. A private car solves most of that, because the driver is already parked at the door and the fare is the number you agreed in January.
The week is also longer than it looks. People arrive for the previews on Wednesday, they are still going on Sunday, and the best galleries are open at hours that do not match anybody’s schedule. Booking the vehicle for the days rather than the trips is what makes the week feel simple.
How clients book the week
Most art week clients book hourly or by the day, which gives them a car that is staged nearby between venues with the driver on call. The alternative is to reserve the vehicle for the whole visit, with the same chauffeur throughout, which is what the collectors tend to do and what we recommend if you are moving between more than three venues a day.
We can also handle the airport leg as part of the same arrangement, so the arrival, the days and the departure are one plan with one contact number and one agreed rate. When should I book Art Basel transportation?
As early as you can. Demand for chauffeured cars peaks during the first week of December, and the best vehicles go first. Most clients book the whole week as a single arrangement, which also gives you one driver for every stop.
Can the driver wait between galleries?
Yes. Book hourly or by the day and your chauffeur stays nearby, ready for the next stop, so you are not standing on the pavement with a catalogue and a shopping bag waiting for a car.
Can you handle a group or a collector's team?
Yes. The Sprinter seats up to fourteen, and we can combine SUVs for larger groups with separate schedules. Tell us the numbers and we will plan the vehicles around the venues.
Can you pick us up at the airport too?
Yes, and many clients combine it, so the airport run and the week are one confirmed plan with one contact number. Send your flight details and we will time the pickup to your landing.
